Yoga refers to traditional physical and mental discipline which originated in India long time ago. Yoga is the relationship between body and mind. The word Yoga means the “Union”; the conscious integration of body, mind and spirit. Yoga advances the connection of body with conscious breathing while remaining aware of the inner spirit.
It also refers to the sum total of all activities like mental, verbal and physical. The branches of yoga are Jnana Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Raja Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Karma Yoga and Hatha Yoga. Even Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads have discussed the aspects of Yoga.
The term Yoga is associated with Hatha Yogaand itsasanas (postures) or as a form of exercise. The person who practices yoga or follow is called yogi or yogini. Lacto Vegetarian should be the diet for any yogi. It includes pulses, whole grain cereals, wheat germ, oilseeds, vegetable oil, nuts, roots, green and fresh vegetable, honey, sugar, dry fruits, milk, ghee, butter, sweet curd and grams.
A practitioner of Yoga can also have Non Vegetarion diet while practicing yoga. The important thing is that he should have balanced diet with mix and match.When a yogi progress on the path of yoga, he realises that killing of animals for pleasure of tongue is unethical therefore he changes his diet.
During Prannayama and Asana, a automatic repulsive force refuses Non Vegetarian diet to bring the cellular quietness. On these grounds vegetarian diet is recommended for Yogi
